about

I was trying to make this song have the same mournful soul feeling like "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers. I like the guitar and bass riff that goes throughout. This is the first ACA song I played drums for! Griffin and I recorded the drums in the main space of Shape Shoppe, which before the new construction was wide, long and concrete. It made for a great drum sound. The kick drum we used was actually a floor tom turned on it's side. Tight and punchy!

lyrics

No one's home to call me on the phone. No one's home. Playing games that leave me feeling distant and old. Waking up from harmless dreams scared of what I think I've seen. These are moments that I fear. My rational thoughts just disappear. I've been wasting on your call with no escape at all. So I let it slip away. In a thread of paper lay it all away. My love lay it all away. So I lie awake alone at night it burns. Lay it all away.
