I thought it would be funny and clever to use a song title that was already really famous and craft my own original tune out of it. I love the guitar sound on this one. It was created by Griffin using an electric guitar that was unamplified and mic'd closely by a condensor mic. The signal was run extra hot to analog tape and distorted to sound like a fuzz guitar. This is also the only song I've ever recorded to featured tuba! And tennis!

This nation burns to feel like it used to. Taken pride and replaced it with a hollow love-stain. Greed can take the place of nation, greed can make a home in me.

The clocks are wound to fake us into fear, but this year's just like next year. And you know this now.
The lights go down on another suburb town where the sex ain't all that good. In this bored little town. With it's freezing burned out lifestyle. Where the wind can pick you up and let you go.
